The vestment of St. Demetrius the New, from Bucharest to Tokyo

The Church of St. George the Great Martyr in Tokyo has recently been enriched by receiving a vestment covering the relics of St. Venerable Father Demetrius the New, Patron Saint of Bucharest and of the Patriarchal Cathedral. The vestment was donated by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel through the intercession of the priests of the Cathedral of Bucharest, which houses the relics of St. Demetrius. The vestment was placed in a reliquary carved in Romania and later taken to St. George’s Church in Japan.

We hope that St. Demetrius the New, together with the other saints whose relics are with us, will help all those who cross the threshold of our church and pray with faith!
